shelf.RadisysoccasionallyupdatesthefunctionalaspectsofFRUdata,includingPICMGpoint‐

to‐pointconnectivityrecords,withcorrectionsorenhancements.Theupdateprocedures

preservetheFRU‐specificinformation,suchastheserialnumber.Theseprocedurescustomize

certainfieldswhilepreservingthefunctionalaspectsoftheFRUdata.

Customizing FRU-specific data

Thefrugen.plPERLscriptpromptsfornewvaluesfortheuser‐definablefieldsinanexisting

FRUdataimage.ThescriptcreatesanewbinaryimagecontainingthefunctionalFRUdata

andanycustomvalues.Specifyinaconfigurationfilewhichoftheuser‐definablefieldsto

overwriteintheFRUdevice.Usetheconfigurationfileandtheimagecreatedtowritethe

customvaluestotheFRUdeviceasdescribedinUpdatingFRUdatausingfru_updateon

page 70.
